Clinical Pathology
Clinical pathology involves the laboratory evaluation of blood, bodily fluids or body tissues in order to identify existing disease. Common laboratory tests include blood chemistries, complete blood counts, blood clotting times, urinalysis, faecal tests, biopsy examination, cultures and infectious disease testing. We can perform urine and blood glucose testing in-house and comprehensive blood screens utilising an external laboratory. Results are usually obtained within 24-48 hours for blood results, depending on the nature of the test being performed.
Cat Vaccinations
Vaccinations are critical in protecting our cats against debilitating and sometimes deadly infectious diseases. Dr Chantal keeps up to date with the latest evidence regarding the frequency and type of vaccinations required for cats. You can feel confident that she will recommend the most up to date vaccination protocol for your cat’s individual needs.
Microchipping
A microchip is about the size of a grain of rice and is injected under your pet’s skin, usually on their back near the shoulders. The microchip is embedded with a code unique to your pet and is the most effective form of permanent identification. If a pet is ever lost and is handed in at a veterinary clinic or animal shelter, a microchip scanner is passed over the animal to reveal the unique code. The vet or animal shelter can then refer to the database to identify the name and contact details of the owner, so they can be reunited. If your pet is not yet microchipped, please give us a call to make an appointment to have a microchip inserted.
Nail Clipping
Regular nail inspection, with clipping or trimming when required, should be part of the routine care of your pet. Whilst many outdoor pets will wear their nails down naturally, elderly and indoor cats will probably need some extra help.

Dr Chantal is the best vet we’ve ever had! She’s caring, thorough, and professional. Chantal is passionate about her work and we trust in the high level of care she provides to our two cats. We have one cat who is an anxious traveller and so the home visit service is a lifesaver.
We highly recommend Feline Fine!
Rebecca
Dr Chantal blew me away with how nuanced and comprehensive she was towards my cat Hamish’s care. She was amazing and was very compassionate towards Hamish’s struggles with handling and worked very hard to help him feel comfortable with feliway, treats and lots of gentle interactions – he even gave her a few head butts!
